Flicker-free LED Drivers

Light flicker is a rapid change in brightness that can be invisible to the naked eye, but it can cause eye strain, headaches, and other problems.

Flicker of LED lights is primarily determined by the frequency of the mains supply. For mains frequency of 50/60 Hz, the potential flicker frequency is 100/120 Hz. The flicker is caused by rectifying AC power, and it can be worse with power factor correction.

Our LED drivers introduce second stage DC to DC conversion, which completely eliminates light flicker. This results in high power factor together with flicker-less LED output. This makes them ideal for use in applications where flicker can be a problem, such as offices, schools, and hospitals.

Active Power Factor Correction

With the internal active harmonic filter, power factor of Hoye electronic ballasts is higher than 98% and total harmonic distortion is reduced to less than 10%, which is far beyond the limits of IEC 61000-3-2.

LED Drivers

  • HLT Flicker-Free Drivers are flicker-free constant current driver for non-dimming applications. The drivers are characterised by very high reliability and performance.
  • For dimming applications, HLT 1-10 V Dimming Drivers can be selected. The drivers support industrial standard 1-10V dimming interface.
  • To have emergency lighting function,  HEL emergency lighting units are used for both AC and DC battery supplies. Five steps dimming is provided via the infrared remote controller. DMX-512 dimming driver is also available for the downlight.
